Section 7A - Southbound Opening

August 15, 2022

The Wekiva Parkway (State Road 429) southbound / westbound lanes from near Orange Boulevard to Longwood Markham Road in Sanford opened today just after 5 a.m. Motorists can now travel in both directions along this stretch since the northbound / eastbound lanes opened on August 1.

FDOT encourages motorists to have a SunPass or compatible transponder to take advantage of the greatest travel savings. Those without an electronic transponder may pay their toll via Toll-by-Plate. The toll for two-axle vehicles is $0.25 for SunPASS customers and $0.50 for those using Toll-by-Plate. To learn more about parkway travel costs, click here.

The newly opened Wekiva Parkway from near Orange Boulevard to Longwood Markham Road will enhance safety by separating through traffic from local traffic, while also making travel easier and reducing commute times. The elevated parkway also will reduce vehicle conflicts with wildlife.

Remember to obey the posted speed limit - safety is everyone's responsibility.
