Section 7A: Nighttime Lane Closures Planned for Paving Work

July 19, 2019

Sanford, Fla. - Crews are scheduled tonight, July 22, to conduct lane closures in two locations to perform paving work as part of Wekiva Parkway Section 7A.

State Road (S.R.) 46: Traffic will alternate through one lane on S.R. 46 from Maureen Drive to Yankee Lake Road beginning at 9 p.m. to make repairs to existing pavement.

South Orange Avenue (Capri Cove Access): Residents on South Orange Avenue and in Capri Cove will be flagged in and out of their community beginning at 6 p.m. so that a new temporary detour can be paved.

Flaggers will direct traffic. Emergency vehicle traffic will be maintained. Please note construction schedules may change due to weather or other circumstances.

The work is being conducted as part of building Wekiva Parkway Section 7A. Work on this stretch along S.R. 46 from Longwood-Markham Road to Orange Boulevard began April 1, 2018, and is scheduled to finish in 2022.

FDOT urges all drivers to stay alert and use caution while driving through or near construction zones. When driving, walking, or bicycling, remember to pay attention and follow the rules. Safety doesn’t happen by accident.
