SANFORD _ Florida Gas Transmission (FGT) crews are scheduled on July 23-27 to close Wayside Drive from south of State Road (S.R.) 46 to Orange Boulevard for pipeline work. Traffic on S.R. 46 will be detoured via South Orange Avenue and Center Road.

Electronic message boards and detour signs will be posted to alert drivers.  Bad weather or other unforeseen circumstances could delay or prolong work.

The utility work is being conducted in conjunction with construction of Wekiva Parkway Section 7A. Work on this stretch along S.R. 46 from Longwood-Markham Road to Orange Boulevard began April 1, 2018, and is scheduled to finish in 2022. Motorists should be alert for large construction equipment and vehicles moving in and out of the work zone. Drivers should obey the speed limit, all construction signs and safety devices for the safety of the public and work crews. FDOT reminds all road users to pay attention, drive with care and always buckle up.
