More Than 180 Attend FDOT Section 8 Design Public Information Meeting

SANFORD - The Florida Department of Transportation’s Wekiva Parkway Section 8 design public information meeting on March 21, 2017 was attended by 181 people. The open house was held at the Lakeside United Methodist Church in Sanford to review the latest preliminary design for the section that connects to I-4 and State Road 417, completing the beltway.

 

Among the  officials in attendance were Jean Jreij, Seminole County Public Works Director; Tony Nelson, also of Seminole County; and Hugh Harling of the East Central Florida Regional Planning Council.

 

Attendees had questions and comments about noise, proximity, access, property values, possible damage to property from pile driving, speeding / speed limits, and height of parkway at various locations. Most everyone said they saw the need for the project, with some very anxious for it to be completed.

 

Five people submitted comment forms and five others turned in public information performance evaluation surveys, with largely positive reviews. Documents and exhibits from the public meeting can be found at the following link:
