(SORRENTO, FL) -- The Florida Department of Transportation on Wednesday, June 29, 2016 shortlisted the top scoring design-build teams vying to finish the design and to build Wekiva Parkway Section 6. Eight teams submitted technical proposals for this section, which will stretch from west of Old McDonald Road in Lake County to east of River Oaks Circle in Seminole County.

The section will feature four wildlife bridges, including the span over the Wekiva River. In this first phase of the procurement process, the top four candidates shortlisted were:

• Archer Western Contractors, LTD.
• Kiewit Infrastructure South Co.
• Lane Construction Corp.
• Superior Construction Co. South

Final selection for this section is scheduled for January 24, 2017.
