The Central Florida Expressway Authority opened bids May 18, 2016 from contractors hoping to work on Wekiva Parkway Section 2A (429-205). Superior Construction was the apparent low bidder at $38.65 million to build the section from east of the systems interchange extending east to FDOT's Section 4A at County Road 435. Work is scheduled to begin in August.
